Plasma is a state in which the gas becomes electrically conductive (ionized) at extreme temperatures. The plasma arc is thus the active part of the fusion process with energy densities up to ten times greater than the TIG arc. These extreme energies, up to 30,000\u00b0C, result in a concentrated heat zone and rapid heating of the zyme material &#8211; and faster weld pool formation than with TIG welding. Virtually no welding fumes are generated in plasma welding. 4 PI PLAZMA Note that the plasma process requires increased cooling capacity to avoid thermal decomposition of the plasma torch. The capacity of the standard cooling unit is suitable for TIG welding.
