Description
The optimized WisePenetration welding function is designed to maintain a constant welding current and thus consistent fusion regardless of changes in wire length in manual welding.
During traditional MIG/MAG welding, the power delivered to the weld pool fluctuates as the distance between the weld and the welding nozzle changes due to the way the welder guides the handle or the shape of the workpiece. This can cause quality problems, including insufficient welding, incomplete or uneven fusion, uneven weld profile and, of course, spatter.
WisePenetration eliminates these problems and reduces the need for grinding and correcting welds. This function counteracts current drop by actively adjusting the wire feed speed. This maintains the proper mechanical properties of the weld and prevents the occurrence of welding defects. The user sets the desired current and, thanks to the operation of the WisePenetration function, its level does not drop when the wire length increases.
The WisePenetration welding function is available for MAG synergy welding programs for ferritic metals. WisePenetration is optional software on Kemppi’s FastMig M and FastMig X, but is available as standard on the FastMig X Intelligent configuration.
BENEFITS
Ensured remelting, even in the case of:
- Narrow structures where arch visibility is problematic
- limited visibility and accessibility
- welding in forced positions
- joints difficult to weld
Welding function that ensures adequate penetration of synergistic MIG/MAG welding. Delivers constant power to the weld pool, regardless of changes in welding fixture position and the distance between the fixture and the weld material.
Each special process is best consulted for operation in a given series of welding source
