RapiDeep is a revolutionary MIG/MAG welding process available on Böhler Welding equipment with SteelDrive software, such as the TERRA NX 400 MSE STEELDRIVE. Its main advantage is a significant increase in fusion depth while maintaining optimal weld width. This makes it possible to weld thicker materials without beveling the edges or with fewer passes.
The RapiDeep process also provides higher welding speeds, up to 50% compared to standard short-arc welding, which directly increases productivity. In addition, thanks to the concentrated arc, RapiDeep features less linear heat input (HI), which minimizes material distortion and preserves material mechanical properties. It is ideal for demanding applications in steel welding.

The SteelDrive software version of the TERRA NX 400 MSE provides access to Böhler Arc’s extensive library of up to 600 precisely defined synergy programs. These programs are the result of Böhler Welding’s years of research and experience in welding materials and processes.
Each synergy program is optimized for a specific combination of material, welding wire, shielding gas and wire diameter. Once the appropriate program is selected, the machine automatically adjusts and maintains the optimal welding parameters, such as arc voltage and wire feed speed, depending on the set current. This greatly simplifies setup, reduces preparation time and guarantees reproducible, high quality welds, even for less experienced operators.
