The Focus TIG 200 DC HP PFC is a tool designed for precision direct current (DC) TIG welding, ideal for joining stainless steel, black steel, copper and other metals (except aluminum and its alloys). The device offers two ways of arc ignition: non-contact HF (high frequency), which is fast and does not contaminate the tungsten electrode, and Lift-TIG (contact by rubbing), which is safer when working near sensitive electronics. A key advantage of the HP (High Performance) version is the built-in TIG DC pulse welding function. The pulse allows excellent control over the amount of heat input, which is invaluable for welding thin materials, preventing burn-through and deformation. It also makes it easier to weld in forced positions and achieve very aesthetic welds with a fine face. The control panel allows you to adjust the pulse parameters, giving advanced welders the ability to fine-tune the process for a specific job. It’s ideal for installation work, stainless steel component fabrication and precision repairs.

In addition to its advanced TIG features, the Focus TIG 200 DC HP PFC is also a very capable welder for the MMA (shielded electrode) method, offering up to 180A of current. This allows efficient welding with most common rutile and basic electrodes with diameters up to 4.0 mm. The device is equipped with features to support the MMA process: Hot Start provides easy arc ignition by momentarily increasing the current at the beginning of welding, and Arc Force dynamically stabilizes the arc, preventing it from extinguishing and sticking to the electrode during operation. The high idle voltage (about 95V) further facilitates arc initiation. A very good duty cycle (140A @ 100%) allows for relatively long welding without interruptions. The MMA welding capability makes this device an extremely versatile tool for assemblers and service technicians, who in the field may need both the precision of TIG and the speed and versatility of the MMA method for construction or repair work.

One of the key advantages of this model is the built-in PFC (Power Factor Correction) circuit. This technology ensures a much more efficient use of the electricity drawn from the 230V mains. This means less current consumption at the same welding power (by up to 30-40% compared to devices without PFC), which translates into real savings, especially with frequent use. Equally important, PFC makes the welder much less sensitive to voltage drops and can stably operate on very long extension cords (even 50-100 meters with the right cable cross-section), which is invaluable during installation work in large facilities or in the field. In addition, thanks to PFC, the device can be powered from a generator with less power than traditional welders would require. PFC is a guarantee of stable operation, power supply flexibility and lower operating costs.

The Focus TIG 200 DC HP PFC weighs only about 13.5 kg, which, combined with its compact dimensions (about 47x15x36 cm) and convenient handle and attached shoulder strap, makes it extremely easy to carry and transport. Operation of the Focus TIG 200 DC HP PFC welder is simple and intuitive thanks to a modern control panel with a digital display. It allows precise welding current setting (with 1A accuracy) for both TIG and MMA methods. The selection of the welding method (TIG HF, TIG Lift, MMA) and the activation of the Pulse function are done via dedicated buttons. The panel also allows adjustment of key TIG parameters, such as post-weld gas discharge time (Post-gas) or Pulse parameters (frequency, base current – depending on the implementation). An easy-to-read display shows the set values in real time, facilitating control and ensuring repeatability of settings. Such ergonomics and clarity of operation allow the welder to quickly configure the device for a specific task and focus on the quality of the work being performed, without having to study complicated instructions.

Despite its light weight and compact size, the Focus TIG 200 DC HP PFC features a robust design, typical of professional Migatronic equipment.
