Each windshield adds a fixed value of +2.0 to the shade level of the auto-darkening filter (ADF), enabling safe and comfortable operation when welding with methods that require very high amperage. Technology Details

?Modification of Dimming Level by +2.0 DIN

The 5000.013 protective lens is a passive optical filter that mounts on the inside of the visor, directly behind the ADF cartridge. Its key function is to permanently raise the total degree of protection by two levels on the DIN scale. This means that a visor set to the maximum DIN level of 13, after installing this glass, will offer protection at the DIN level of 15. It is dedicated to processes that generate extremely bright arcs, such as plasma arc welding (PAW) or MIG/MAG and TIG welding at very high current values. Investing in this component allows you to significantly expand the applications of your existing visor at minimal cost.

?️Green Filter for Contrast Enhancement

The dark green coloring of the glass is not accidental – it acts as a contrast filter. By selectively filtering specific wavelengths of light, the glass improves the perception and visual acuity of the weld pool against the surrounding material. For the welder, this means better control of the process, the ability to guide the electrode or torch more precisely, and less visual fatigue during long hours of work. This is a subtle but noticeable improvement that directly translates into the quality and repeatability of the welds being made.
