ArcDrive is a fundamental enhanced MIG/MAG process developed by Böhler Welding and available on TERRA NX equipment. It features an exceptionally stable and highly reactive welding arc. This feature is crucial when welding in difficult positions and with variable free wire exit lengths, giving the welder full control.

The main benefit of the ArcDrive process is a significant reduction in weld spatter. Fewer spatters mean direct savings in time and costs associated with weld post-treatment (grinding, cleaning). ArcDrive is ideally suited for welding carbon steels, low-alloy steels and cored wires, guaranteeing a smooth face and perfect fusion.

RapiDeep™, available on TERRA NX equipment with the SteelDrive package, is a revolutionary MIG/MAG welding process that is designed to maximize productivity while maintaining superior weld quality on steel. Its key feature is the generation of a highly concentrated arc that provides much deeper material penetration compared to standard short-circuit welding.

With RapiDeep™, it is possible to increase welding speeds by up to 50% and reduce heat input (HI). Less heat input minimizes distortion of the welded workpiece and reduces the width of the heat-affected zone (SWC), which is especially important when welding thin sheet metal or materials sensitive to overheating. The result is higher productivity, lower consumption of auxiliary materials and energy, and better mechanical properties of the joint.

Böhler Arc is an intelligent synergy program system implemented in Böhler Welding equipment, which in the SteelDrive version offers access to up to 600 predefined welding curves. Each program is the result of years of research and experience by Voestalpine Böhler Welding engineers, optimized for the specific material (different steel grades), wire diameter, shielding gas type and welding position.
