The GYS SMARTMIG 162 is a more advanced, compact, single-phase (230V) inverter welder designed for MIG/MAG welding. It offers more power and versatility compared to the SMARTMIG 142, allowing welding of steel, stainless steel and minium (requires suitable wire and shielding gas) with a higher maximum welding current.
The welder offers a maximum welding current of 160 amperes. Its “smart” control panel with a more extensive parameter table and the ability to adjust additional functions (e.g. Arc place, Hot Start for MMA) makes it easier to precisely set the optimal welding parameters.
Important: As with the SMARTMIG 142, the “regulator not IN THE KIT” version means that the kit does not include the pressure regulator needed to connect the shielding gas cylinder. It must be purchased separately if you intend to weld MIG/MAG with gas. The welder also allows welding without shielding gas (self-shielding wire). In addition, the SMARTMIG 162 offers MMA (shielded electrode) welding.
