Description
Paton MultiPRO 250 (15-4) MIG/MAG MMA/TIG HF mig welder – basic data.
Digital multifunctional semi-automatic inverter machine PATON® MFI 270 MULTIРRO 230V is designed for semi-automatic MIG/MAG welding, manual MMA arc welding and TIG HF arc welding in gas and protective mixtures with direct current. The MultiPro series has a non-contact arc ignition module (oscillator), with a built-in gas supply valve.
The advantage of using an all-electronic control system in this device excludes the disadvantages that are peculiar in multifunctional devices created on the basis of analog control systems, which by definition are always directed to some one specific method, and all other methods as additional have control disadvantages. In an all-electronic system, the control system has absolutely all the resources of the source, within the limits of its full capacity and regardless of which method is used. The “Multi-Professional” series device is designed for industrial use, the source can be separated from the welding wire feeding mechanism for convenience of use, as well as for safety.
With the possibility of additional adjustment, you can choose the most optimal welder settings depending on the situation. The source provides a nominal current load of 250 А, which is enough to work with electrodes from Ф1.6 mm up to easily fusible Ф6mm, as well as semi-automatic welding with solid wire from Ф0.6 mm to Ф1.2 mm in diameter. The source defaults to optimal values and is simple enough if you don’t go into the details of the settings, which already require more experience from the welder. For hazardous work conditions, a block for lowering the idle voltage in the MMA method is built in, with the ability to turn it on and off.
A characteristic feature of PATON semi-automatic machines® “Multi-Professional” series is a high-quality, sealed, metallic wire feeder, as well as the existing KZ-2 “EURO” type connector, which has become a standard in the world, allowing the user to change the holder at will in the future. The device has a protection module against abnormal supply voltage levels (overvoltage or voltage drops) as well as surges. Due to the increased frequency of the voltage supplied to the transformer, the transformer can be several times smaller. Therefore, the weight and overall dimensions of the welder are several times smaller than ordinary devices with identical output parameters.
Features and properties of the Paton MultiPRO 250 (15-4) MIG/MAG MMA/TIG HF mig welder.
WELDING FUNCTION WITHOUT GAS – SELF-SHIELD WELDWELDWELDING
All PATON mig machines are equipped for welding with self-shielding wire. Such welding, unlike the traditional MIG/MAG welding process, is carried out without the use of shielding gas – but this requires a special welding wire. Such wire produces its own shielding, which helps protect the welding arc.
MULTIPRO SERIES – BUILT-IN IONIZER
The MultiPro series welders have a built-in HF IONIZER, which enables contactless arc ignition in the TIG welding method. This extension is a function of the TIG handle control button. The handle button control cable is connected directly to this module. When the control button on the torch is pressed, the control signal is sent to the controller of the welding device, which develops the function of the previous t1 gas venting to clean the weld area before welding, and with a delay gives the signal to turn on the device – so that we have the possibility of welding in the TIG method with non-contact arc ignition.
SOLDERING – INDUCTANCE CONTROL
Paton MIGOMATS of the Standard and PRO series have the possibility of soldering, thanks to the function of changing the inductance in three stages. The inductance control allows to optimize the arc characteristics depending on the thickness of the component to be welded. This function is necessary to change the speed of current flow when changing the arc voltage. The thinner the component to be welded with MIG/MAG, the inductance should be higher (soft arc – less fusion), for thick components vice versa (hard arc – more fusion).

MAIN ADVANTAGES OF PATON®:
-
- Wide range of adjustable welding parameters
a) MMA method – 1(basic) + 10(additional)
b) TIG method – 1(basic) + 10(additional)
c) MIG/MAG method – 2(basic) + 8(additional) - Availability of pulsed current welding mode in all methods;
- In addition to protection against mains voltage spikes, the devices have a system for stabilizing operation at longer changes in voltage in the single-phase power grid and allow proper operation of the device for the voltage range from 160 V to 260 V. It is worth remembering that at a minimum voltage of 160 V, welding can be carried out with an electrode with a diameter of no more than Ф 3 mm or semi-automatic welding with a wire with a diameter of no more than Ф 0.8 mm.
- Installed module for contactless arc ignition in the DC TIG method (initiation of the electric arc with a high voltage of the order of kV)
- The welder is adapted to the standard power grid. Thanks to its high energy efficiency factor, the source provides two times less electricity demand compared to traditional sources;
- Adaptive adjustment of the fan speed, which runs at a higher efficiency when the device is heated and slows down the speed when the device is not in use. This affects fan wear, reduces the amount of dust in the device, and reduces welding noise.
- Convenience of operation associated with high load duration at nominal current, thus enabling virtually uninterrupted operation at 25 °C.
- High reliability of the device in production conditions with high dust and high humidity.
- The device has a thermal protection system that protects all heat-generating components of the welding unit from overheating.
- All electronic components of the device are impregnated with two layers of high-quality varnish, which ensures the reliability of the product throughout its lifetime;
- Improved arc glow stability which virtually eliminates electrode sticking.
- When the source is separated from the wire feeder, it provides a small footprint and makes the device mobile, which simplifies welding in hard-to-reach areas.
- Wide range of adjustable welding parameters
