Shade increase of +2.0 DIN
The 5000.013 cover lens is a passive optical filter fitted on the inside of the helmet, directly behind the ADF cassette. Its main function is to raise the total protection level permanently by two DIN steps. This means that a helmet set to its maximum of DIN 13 will provide DIN 15 protection with this lens fitted. It is intended for processes with an extremely bright arc, such as plasma welding (PAW) or MIG/MAG and TIG welding at very high currents. This component extends the uses of your helmet considerably at minimal cost.
Green filter for more contrast
The dark green tint is deliberate: it acts as a contrast filter. By selectively filtering certain wavelengths, the lens improves the perception and sharpness of the weld pool against the surrounding material. For you, this means better control of the process, more precise guidance of the electrode or torch and less eye strain during long hours of work. It is a subtle but noticeable improvement that directly affects the quality and consistency of your welds.
Double protective function
Besides the optical modification, this lens also protects the auto-darkening filter.
