Technology details
Modularity and economical service
The neo p550 auto-darkening filter is a key part of the modular Optrel system. It is designed as a direct replacement for all p550 series shells, so you can swap it quickly and easily if it is damaged or if you want to upgrade an older filter. This approach means you do not have to buy a complete new helmet when the shell and headgear are still in good condition. It saves money and is a sensible, sustainable way to manage your equipment. This component extends the service life of your helmet and keeps it fully functional.
External “Satellite” adjustment
The ergonomic “Satellite” knob lets you change the shade level steplessly without taking off the helmet. It sits on the side of the shell, where you can reach it easily even with welding gloves on. The welder can react immediately to a change in arc intensity, moving from low to high current without interrupting the work or losing concentration. This removes the temptation to weld with the wrong setting, which has a direct effect on eye protection. The solution supports continuous work, precision and the highest level of safety.
Broad shade range DIN 9-13
The filter offers a versatile range of protection levels from DIN 9 to DIN 13, which covers most common welding processes. Lower values such as DIN 9 are ideal for TIG welding at low current, while higher values up to DIN 13 give full protection during intensive MIG/MAG or MMA work at high amperage. Stepless adjustment lets you match the view of the weld pool to the specific task, material and position. With a range this broad you get one filter that handles almost every job in the workshop.
Bright, clear light state DIN 4
In the passive state, before the arc is struck, the filter stays at brightness level DIN 4. This value gives a very good view of the work area, so you can prepare the material, position the torch or inspect the weld after finishing. This light state greatly reduces the need to raise and lower the helmet, which means less strain on the neck and saved time. A clear view at rest gives you comfort, efficiency and less eye fatigue throughout the working day.
