Böhler Selco wheelRunner is a welding carriage, that is a tractor that guides the torch along the joint on a rail or on the material itself. The welder sets the travel speed and the parameters, and the unit holds them along the whole length of the weld. We do not keep the system in regular stock; we select and quote it after talking to you.
What a welding tractor does
The tractor takes over guiding the torch on long straight and circumferential welds. A constant travel speed gives an even face width and a repeatable heat input, which is hard to hold when a long weld is guided by hand. Units of this type work with the MIG/MAG and TIG processes.
What it is suitable for
- Long straight welds on plates and structures, where manual guiding is tiring and drifts towards the end.
- Fillet welds along ribs and sections.
- Series production, where joint repeatability matters.
Status in our range
The wheelRunner system is supplied to order. We do not give the load capacity, speed range or equipment here, because the configuration depends on the type of weld, the welding power source and the workstation. We confirm these data with the manufacturer for a specific enquiry, together with the delivery date.
