The optimised WisePenetration welding function is designed to keep the welding current constant, and with it a consistent penetration, regardless of changes in wire stick-out in manual welding.
In traditional MIG/MAG welding, the power delivered to the weld pool fluctuates as the distance between the weld and the torch nozzle changes, depending on how the welder guides the torch or on the shape of the workpiece. This can cause quality problems, including lack of fusion, incomplete or uneven penetration, an uneven weld profile and, of course, spatter.
WisePenetration eliminates these problems and reduces the need for grinding and weld repairs. The function counteracts current drop by actively adjusting the wire feed speed. This keeps the right mechanical properties of the weld and prevents welding defects. You set the required current, and WisePenetration keeps it from dropping as the wire stick-out gets longer.
The WisePenetration welding function is available for synergic MAG programs for ferritic metals. WisePenetration is optional software for Kemppi FastMig M and FastMig X machines, but comes as standard in the FastMig X Intelligent configuration.
BENEFITS
Penetration is ensured, even with:
- narrow structures where the arc is hard to see
- limited visibility and access
- welding in difficult positions
- joints that are hard to weld
Welding function that ensures proper penetration in synergic MIG/MAG welding. It delivers constant power to the weld pool regardless of changes in torch position and in the distance between the torch and the workpiece.
Each special process is best checked with us for how it works with the particular power source series.
