SCW55 heat exchanger for compressors
Plate heat exchangers are efficient units for recovering heat energy, for example from the compression process in oil-injected screw compressors. The special channel design ensures free flow of the medium and very high heat transfer efficiency in liquid to liquid systems. The exchanger is installed inside the compressor (with the connection stubs led out through the casing). Stainless steel, copper plates and hard copper brazing give it high durability and a long service life.
Benefits of a heat exchanger
- Lower compressor operating temperature (a drop of up to 20°C), less wear on components
- Better ventilation of the compressor room, less heat released into the surroundings
- More effective drying of the compressed air
- Real financial savings and a fast return on investment
- Lower CO₂ emissions

Why recover heat from your compressor?
- Up to 90% of the electrical energy used by a compressor is converted into heat.
- Electricity accounts for about 70% of the operating costs of a compressor.
- With a properly designed installation you can recover up to 70-75% of the heat energy and use it for:
- heating domestic hot water,
- space heating,
- supporting production processes.
