Avesta 2507/P100 Rutile is a rutile coated electrode of the E 25 9 4 N L R / E2594-16 type for superduplex steels 1.4410 / UNS S32750, 1.4507 / UNS S32550 and 1.4501 / UNS S32760. It was developed for the severe requirements of NORSOK M-601 and similar standards, and the maker names desalination, pulp and paper, flue gas desulphurisation and seawater systems as its working areas.
The base materials are 1.4410 (X2CrNiMoN25-7-4), 1.4467 (X2CrMnNiMoN26-5-4) and 1.4468 (GX2CrNiMoN25-6-3). The properties of the weld metal match the parent metal: high tensile strength and toughness together with excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and localised corrosion in chlorides. The deposit meets ASTM G 48 Methods A, B and E at 40 degrees C both as welded and after post weld heat treatment. The operating temperature range is minus 50 to 220 degrees C, and welding runs in all positions.

The nickel over-alloying sets the austenite share, but it does not release you from thermal discipline: run narrow beads, keep the heat input low and check the interpass temperature to the WPS. Under NORSOK requirements record the parameters, because the corrosion test after welding verifies exactly that thermal regime. Store the electrodes dry and do not leave an open tin overnight.
