What Avesta FCW P12-PW flux-cored wire is used for

Avesta FCW P12-PW is a flux-cored wire with a rutile core. It suits welding nickel alloys and works on boiler and furnace parts, chemical plant and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.

It joins materials such as 1.4547. You can weld in all positions, including vertical up and overhead, the deposit keeps its toughness in the cryogenic range, so it goes on tanks and plant for liquefied gases, and the wire also serves for cladding steel surfaces.

  • Classification EN ISO: T Ni 6625 P M 2
  • AWS classification: ENiCrMo3T1-4
  • Diameters: 1.2 mm

Run the pool more slowly than on steel, nickel alloys are sluggish and will not flow out to the edges of the groove on their own. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions.
