What BÖHLER CN 13/4-IG TIG rod is used for

BÖHLER CN 13/4-IG is a TIG rod for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It goes into tanks, process pipelines and equipment for the chemical and food industries.

The rod suits grades such as 1.4317, 1.4313, 1.4407 and 1.4414. It covers root runs, thin walls and welds that need a smooth face, along with tanks, process installations and equipment working in contact with water and steam.

  • Classification EN ISO: W 13 4
  • AWS classification: ER410NiMo (mod.)
  • Diameters: 2.0 / 2.4 mm

After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Match the diameter to the plate thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
