Kemppi Pro 3000 TIG is a direct current TIG power source with a Protig 410 add on unit and a TX panel, liquid cooled. You set the current from 5 to 300 A, at a 100% duty cycle the machine gives 250 A, and the source itself weighs 17 kg.
What this machine is for
The output is direct current, so you join mild steel, stainless steel and special alloys. You will not weld aluminium in this configuration, because that needs alternating current. The range from 5 to 300 A goes down to thin walled pipes and reaches thicker joints, and the load capacity at 40 degrees Celsius is 300 A at 29 V and a 60% duty cycle as well as 250 A at 26 V and a 100% duty cycle.
The set works in production for the chemical and food industries, in power engineering, in the motor industry and in aviation, that is where the weld goes for testing and has to look the same on every part. Pulse limits the amount of heat in the material, so thin sheet distorts less and the pool is easier to hold in check.
The Protig 410 add on unit takes care of the ignition and of steady running of the process as well as of precise current adjustment. It is modular, so you detach it from the source and move the set elsewhere. The shielding gas is argon.
Features and equipment
- TX panel with fast adjustment of the parameters, a choice of continuous, spot and pulsed mode, programming of settings and testing of settings without striking the arc.
- Pulsed mode for thin sheet and materials sensitive to overheating, for example stainless steel.
- Protig 410 add on unit with a modular build, you detach it from the power source.
- Adjustment of the current slope up time from 0 to 10 s and of the slope down time from 0 to 10 s.
- Liquid cooling, which holds a steady working temperature on long welds.
- A compact housing with dimensions of 615 x 260 x 400 mm.

What to watch out for
The supply is 400 V in a three phase layout, 50 Hz or 60 Hz, with a tolerance from minus 15% to plus 20%. The source weighs 17 kg and measures 615 x 260 x 400 mm, so you carry it without a trolley, but with a cooler and the add on unit the station takes up more room. A liquid cooled torch needs a sound circuit: check the fluid level, the pump and that the hoses are clear before the first ignition.
Direct current limits the range of materials, and aluminium stays out of reach in this configuration. The description lists neither a TIG torch nor cables in the set, so confirm the content before you buy.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
