Smart modularity: repair, do not replace
The shell is a fundamental part of Optrel's modular philosophy, which lets you replace key helmet components independently. If the shell is damaged, cracked or worn, there is no need to buy a whole new helmet. You simply move your existing, fully working auto-darkening filter (ADF) into the new shell, which significantly cuts the running and servicing costs of your equipment. This approach also allows upgrades, for example fitting a newer shell with extra features to an older cassette. Buying a spare part instead of a whole unit is a rational and economical way to manage professional equipment.
Heat-reflective coating: a shield against infrared radiation
The silver surface of the shell is not just about looks, it is above all a thermal technology. It is coated with a special paint that reflects a significant part of the radiant (infrared) heat emitted by the welding arc and the hot workpiece. As a result, much less heat gets inside the helmet, lowering the temperature around the welder's face. This means less fatigue, less sweating and more comfort during long working cycles.
