Professional electrode cable 400 A / 3 m, industrial power and strength
When you weld thick material and work with large electrodes, you need a tool that will take an extreme load. That is exactly why we built this cable. First of all, it is based on a thick 70 mm² cable and a heavy duty industrial 400 A holder. As a consequence, it is a dependable answer for hard work in workshops, on building sites and in production plants, where raw power is what counts.

Key features and benefits, an advantage in every detail
Heavy Duty 400 A Electrode Holder: A Firm Grip, Full Safety
Work at 400 A calls for the right tools. That is why we fitted this cable with an industrial 400 A electrode holder. First of all, its reinforced body and the insulating materials are made for high temperatures. What is more, enlarged jaws and a strong spring hold even the thickest electrodes securely. As a result, you gain safety and peace of mind, knowing that the holder will take the hardest conditions.
Thick 70 mm² Cable: A Road for High Power
To carry 400 A to the electrode you need a solid "motorway" for the current. Namely, an H01N2-D cable with a cross section of 70 mm² is exactly what you need. Thanks to that, it takes a very high current load with no risk of overheating. In the end, its low resistance means a negligible voltage drop, so the full power of the welder is available at the holder.
An Armoured Hydraulic Connection
A cable is only as good as its weakest point. For that reason, we join the cable to the plug by hydraulic crimping. In the end, this creates a monolithic joint that is mechanically very strong and conducts the current perfectly. So, you can be sure that this part will never let you down, even under the hardest work.
Proven quality: the calculation for 400 A / 3 m
A low voltage drop across the whole circuit is the key to a stable arc. That is why we show the calculation openly.
Step 1: Collecting the data
- Welding current (I): 400 A
- Total circuit length (L): 6 m (3 m electrode lead + 3 m earth lead)
- Cross section (A): 70 mm²
- Resistivity of copper (ρ): ≈ 0.0175 Ω, mm²/m
Step 2: Calculating the resistance (R)
R = (ρ × L) / A = (0.0175 × 6) / 70 = 0.0015 Ω
Step 3: Calculating the voltage drop (ΔU)
ΔU = I × R = 400 A × 0.0015 Ω = 0.60 V
Conclusion
As you can see, a voltage drop of only 0.60 V at such a high current is an outstanding result. It means that the cable is designed and built to carry high power without losses.
To sum up, with this electrode cable you get:
- Readiness to work at 400 A in industrial use.
- Safety and a firm grip thanks to the heavy duty 400 A holder.
- Minimal power losses and thermal protection thanks to the thick 70 mm² cable.
- Reliability for years, provided by the hydraulically crimped connection.
I recommend it
