What Spartus ER308LSi solid MIG/MAG wire is used for

Spartus ER308LSi is a low-carbon stainless solid MIG/MAG wire for austenitic 18 % Cr and 8 % Ni stainless steels. Typical work covers pipework, tanks and plate fabrication where the weld must withstand water and liquid media without intergranular corrosion.

For AISI 301, 302, 304, 304L, 308 and 308L (1.4301, 1.4306, 1.4307). The raised silicon content (LSi) improves wetting, so the bead blends smoothly into the base metal.

Keep separate brushes and discs for stainless work, carbon steel dust leaves rust stains on the bead. Match the feed rolls to the wire diameter and use a PTFE liner on longer torches, stainless wire drags more than carbon steel wire.
