Spartus ER316LSi is a molybdenum alloyed, extra low carbon stainless TIG rod for welding and surfacing acid resistant steels. Molybdenum raises pitting resistance and the low carbon content protects the weld against intergranular corrosion.
For AISI 316, 316L and 316Ti (1.4401, 1.4404, 1.4571). The raised silicon content gives a smooth bead and a gentle transition to the base metal, most visible in fillet welds.

Weld with DC, electrode negative, under argon. Keep the hot end of the rod inside the gas shield at all times, a rod pulled out of the shield oxidises and contaminates the weld. Degrease the rod and the joint edges first.
