Thermanit 23/07 is a high-alloyed lean duplex solid wire. It is used in the chemical, pulp and paper and marine industries, on parts loaded both mechanically and by corrosion.
The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, both by hand with a semiautomatic torch and on mechanised stations. Typical work covers chemical plants, desalination units, tanks and offshore structures in duplex steel.
- Classification EN ISO: 14343-A G 23 7 N L
- AWS classification: A5.9 ER2307
- Shielding gas: M12, M13
Do not quench the joint with water and do not force the cooling, too fast a cooling rate leaves too much ferrite in the weld. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion.
