Technical Details and Certification
Materials and Construction
The 44-5530 jacket is made of grain cowhide, the top and most valuable layer of the hide, with a dense fibre structure and a guaranteed thickness of at least 1 mm. Unlike split leather, grain leather is naturally more resistant to water and oil, and it is also much more durable and resistant to mechanical damage. Every seam is sewn with very strong 3-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR® aramid thread, which does not melt at high temperatures, so the construction stays intact even in direct contact with sparks. Key points prone to tearing, such as pocket edges, are reinforced with metal rivets. Importantly, the rivets are covered on the inside so they do not conduct heat or current to the wearer's body. Electrically insulated snap fasteners complete the safety features and minimise the risk of electric shock.
