The Cloos GLW 300 is an inverter TIG power source for alternating and direct current, supplied from a 400 V mains, with a welding current up to 300 A. It has liquid cooling, the welding sequence on potentiometers and a foot pedal for current control in the set.
What this machine is for
Alternating current takes aluminium and its alloys, because it breaks up the layer of oxides on the surface. Direct current goes under stainless steel, mild steel and copper alloys. One source therefore handles both materials without a change of station, which suits a workshop making tanks, railings, frames and repairs.
You set the welding sequence on potentiometers, without going into a menu, so you make corrections fast, during the work. The foot pedal gives control of the current while welding: you drop the current when you come out of the pool and you fill the crater without breaking the arc. The liquid cooled torch stands up to longer runs.
Features and equipment
- TIG AC/DC. Alternating current for aluminium, direct current for stainless and mild steel.
- Foot pedal for welding current control. You change the current with your foot while you lay the weld.
- Stepless welding sequence on potentiometers. Fast corrections without a menu.
- Liquid cooling. The circuit takes the heat from the torch during longer runs.

What to watch out for
The 400 V supply needs a three phase socket. The foot pedal suits stationary work at the bench, and on a structure you are left with control from the panel. With liquid cooling you watch the coolant level and the flow through the hoses, and you check the quick couplings for leaks before the start.
The record gives no duty cycle, no weight and no dimensions, confirm them before transport. For TIG welding you also need tungsten electrodes, gas nozzles and argon, and the record does not list them.
