The Selco Genesis 302 AC/DC is an inverter TIG power source for alternating and direct current, with an integrated liquid cooler, supplied from a 3 x 400 V mains. You set the current from 5 to 300 A, at a 40% duty cycle you get 300 A and at 100% you get 220 A. The set holds a new TIG torch of 8 m length.
What this machine is for
A current of 220 A at a 100% duty cycle means welding thick walled aluminium structures through a whole shift without breaks for cooling, and 300 A at 40% gives a reserve for thicker sections. The lower limit of 5 A lets you join very thin sheet, to the documentation even 0.5 mm, without the risk of burning through, which helps on responsible welds on a thin wall.
Alternating current takes aluminium and non ferrous alloys, direct current mild and acid resistant steel. The documentation aims this model at large production plants, at shipyards and at welding workshops working on non ferrous metals, and the Easy Joining function and the clear panel shorten the training of a new worker. The pulse with an adjustable frequency narrows the arc and deepens the penetration with less distortion, which on stainless steel limits discolouration and helps you keep control of the pool in forced positions.
Features and equipment
- Multi-Level inverter technology: a steady arc under a changing load and a fast reaction of the power circuit.
- TIG AC and DC welding: alternating current for aluminium and light alloys, direct current for mild and acid resistant steel.
- TIG Pulse with an adjustable frequency: a narrower arc, a deeper penetration and smaller distortion, and the weld face lies in a regular ripple that needs no finishing.
- Easy Joining function: it makes joining parts easier without long tuning of the parameters, which shortens the training of a new person at the station.
- Panel with a logical layout of the settings: you set the base current, the slope up and the slope down without going through a deep menu, and you make a correction while you work.
- Integrated liquid cooler: the torch stays cool even at 300 A, the wear parts last longer, and the cooler runs when it is needed, so it makes less noise and draws less.
- New TIG torch of 8 m length: reach around a large part without moving the station.

What to watch out for
The product card gives the brand Böhler Welding, while the model name points to the Selco Genesis 302 AC/DC, so confirm the marking on the plate. A 3 x 400 V supply needs a power socket and a circuit sized for the draw at 300 A. At a 100% duty cycle you get 220 A, above that value plan breaks, otherwise the thermal protection will trip.
The supply cable is 2 m, so the socket has to be close to the station or count on an extension lead of the right cross section. You check the cooling circuit before the first start up, the fluid level and the flow through the hoses decide the life of the torch. For aluminium you need clean argon and an electrode picked for alternating current. The torch is new, but a regulator and a stock of wear parts are a separate purchase, ask about them.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
