The EWM Tetrix 421 is an inverter TIG AC/DC power source with liquid cooling, for a 400 V supply. It gives 420 A at a 60% duty cycle and 360 A at a continuous 100% load. The machine has pulse, synergy and fine tuning of every parameter.
What this machine is for
Alternating and direct current in one source give two areas of work. On AC you weld aluminium and its alloys, because the positive half wave breaks the aluminium oxide layer off the pool. On DC you take mild steel, acid resistant steels, copper, nickel and titanium, with a focused arc and a narrow heat affected zone.
A reserve of 420 A at a 60% cycle already means thicker sections: tanks, heat exchangers, frames from aluminium profiles, machine parts. At 360 A the source works without stopping, so you lay long circumferential runs with no break to cool down.

What to watch out for
The supply is a 400 V mains and a three phase circuit, so agree the size of the fuse with an electrician. The torch is rated 350 A, that is less than the source, so above that value you need a stronger torch. The cooler needs fluid with frost protection, so check the level, the flow and the tightness of the quick couplings. With a torch 8 m long keep the earth close to the part. On alternating current the tungsten electrode wears faster, so keep a stock. The card gives no weight and no dimensions.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
