The EWM Tetrix Synergic 350 AC/DC is an inverter TIG power source with a synergic panel, liquid cooled. You set the current from 5 A to 350 A, and at 300 A the machine runs at a 100% duty cycle. The supply is 3 x 400 V with a tolerance from minus 25% to plus 20%.
What this machine is for
This is a power source for aluminium and stainless steel in a production plant. The duty cycle at 40°C is 350 A at 60% and 300 A at 100%, so you run long welds up to 300 A with no breaks to cool down. You set the alternating current frequency from 50 Hz to 200 Hz, that is from a wide, soft pool to a narrow, focused arc for thin sheet and corners.
The Synergic panel works on one knob logic. You point out the material group, the electrode diameter and the sheet thickness, and the machine works out the alternating current balance, the frequency and the starting current. Thanks to this a changeover between jobs takes a moment and the risk of a wrong setting drops. You save your own programs in the job database, up to 256 entries, so repeatable parts always start from the same point.
The activArc function watches the arc energy. When the arc shortens, the processor raises the current and holds the process power steady, so you can work with a very short arc without the risk of sticking the electrode. That counts in forced positions, for example on pipelines on site, where the hand does not always hold a steady distance.
spotArc and spotmatic turn TIG into a tool for spot joining. spotArc makes spots with a repeatable time, accurate to milliseconds, which helps on thin sheet and on control cabinets. spotmatic needs no button on the torch: the arc strikes after the electrode touches the material and is lifted slightly. The maker states that this shortens the tacking time by up to 50%, and every tack comes out the same and puts in little heat.

What to watch out for
The supply is 3 x 400 V with a tolerance from minus 25% to plus 20%, so the machine takes voltage drops and work on a long extension lead. The cooling is run by a pump at 3.5 bar, and the circuit works with cool41 or cool82 fluid. Before you start you check the coolant level and flow, and after a stop in an unheated hall whether the fluid has not frozen.
The description does not give the weight or the dimensions, so arrange transport before collection. The length of the earth cable is not given either, so ask about the content of the set. The torch is 8 m long, which gives reach around the part, but with a cable that long the flow in the liquid circuit and the state of the couplings count. For the work you add an argon cylinder, a regulator with a flow meter and a set of tungsten electrodes and nozzles.

This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
