What this machine is for
With alternating current you weld aluminium and its alloys, because the positive half wave breaks the layer of oxides. With direct current you join stainless, acid resistant and carbon steel, and the range from 5 A handles thin sheet with no burn through of the root. A duty cycle of 420 A at 100% means thick sections and long beads.
Synergic control leads you through the settings: you pick the welding position, the type of alloy and the thickness of the part, and then you tune every parameter on its own. On top of that comes a pulse up to 15 000 Hz, which focuses the arc on precise joints.

What to watch out for
The torch is liquid cooled, so at the station you need a working circuit with a cooler. The data sheet puts the machine at a current up to 500 A, while the description from the maker gives 450 A, so stay with 450 A at an 80% duty cycle. Ask about tungsten electrodes, nozzles and liners for the torch.
