GYS Protig 201 AC/DC FV is an inverter TIG power source for alternating and direct current, with an MMA mode. In TIG AC mode you set the current from 10 to 200 A, in MMA from 10 to 160 A. The machine weighs 18.5 kg and works from a single phase socket.
What this machine is for
This is equipment for metalwork shops, air conditioning services and assembly crews working in the field. With alternating current you weld aluminium and its alloys, with direct current stainless steel, mild steel and titanium. A weight of 18.5 kg means you take the machine in the boot and carry it in yourself.
The Full Voltage technology covers a supply voltage from 85 to 265 V, while the card gives work in the range from 110 to 230 V. The PFC module draws current sinusoidally, so the machine takes long extension leads, even up to 100 m, and work from a generator. On a building site and during assembly that usually settles whether the station can be started at all.
Aluminium is welded with alternating current, and then the balance and the frequency have to be set. The AC Easy function does it for you: you enter the current and the machine sets the alternating current parameters itself. When you want to decide yourself, you switch to AC Manual mode. Pulse works on direct and on alternating current, so on very thin sheet you limit thermal distortion.

What to watch out for
The product card gives a supply of 230 V, while the documentation lists a range from 110 to 230 V, so confirm the configuration before you buy. The mains fuse is 16 A. The duty cycle at a temperature of 40 degrees is 160 A at 25% and 100 A at 100%, so at higher currents you plan breaks, and long welds you run up to 100 A. The upper 200 A you take for short beads and for thicker material.
The torch is gas cooled, which with longer work at high current limits the pace, because the handle warms up. For aluminium prepare electrodes and nozzles for alternating current and a stock of shielding gas. The earth cable is 3 m and the torch 4 m, and that sets the working radius around the socket.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
