At the heart of the Magnum MIG 220 ALU/CU sits modern IGBT inverter technology, which gives a stable welding arc, lower energy use and high resistance to interference. The key function is synergic control: the machine matches the wire feed speed to the set welding current on its own, which greatly simplifies handling and lets even less experienced operators lay down good quality welds. The braze welding function with CuSi3 wire proves its worth on galvanised sheet, as it keeps damage to the zinc layer to a minimum.

Control panel
The control panel was laid out for speed and precision. Its centrepiece is a clear LCD digital display that presents every welding parameter in a readable form. With the ergonomic knobs the operator selects the welding method, switches on the synergic program for a given material and gas, and fine tunes the voltage or the inductance. Function switches allow an instant choice of torch trigger mode (2T/4T).
