Spartus ER70S-6 (SG2) is a copper coated TIG rod alloyed with manganese and silicon for non-alloy and fine grain steels and pipes. It suits pipelines, boilers and tanks, root passes and thin sheet where low distortion matters.
For S235, S275 and S355 and boiler steels P235GH and P265GH. The copper coating protects the rods from rust in storage, and manganese and silicon deoxidise the pool for a pore free weld.

Weld with DC, electrode negative, under argon. Keep the hot end of the rod inside the gas shield at all times, a rod pulled out of the shield oxidises and contaminates the weld. Degrease the rod and the joint edges first.
