The EWM Tetrix 230 AC/DC Puls is an inverter TIG power source supplied from one 230 V phase, liquid cooled. You set the current from 3 A to 230 A, at a power source weight of 18.3 kg.
What this machine is for
This is a full TIG power source for alternating and direct current, not only the DC version. On AC you weld aluminium, because the positive half wave breaks the layer of aluminium oxide. On DC you take black steel, acid resistant steel, copper and titanium, in both polarities.
The supply from a 230 V socket and the weight of 18.3 kg make this power source a machine for assembly and service in the field. The fuse is 16 A slow blow, and for work from a generator the recommended power is 8.1 kVA. A mains tolerance from -40% to +15% gives a margin on a weak circuit.

What to watch out for
A single phase 230 V supply with a 16 A slow blow fuse means that at a current close to 230 A the circuit is loaded hard. You work without breaks at 170 A. The torch is 8 m long and the earth cable about 4 m. The cooler needs fluid with frost protection. IP23 allows work under a roof, but not in the rain.
