Technical Details and Certification
Materials and Construction
The 44-7920 cushion is built from carefully selected, heat-resistant grade A cowhide split leather at least 1 mm thick. It forms a very good barrier against contact with hot surfaces, molten metal spatter and mechanical damage. The cushion is sewn with the strongest thread on the market, 5-ply twisted DuPont™ KEVLAR®, which resists burn-through and tearing and keeps the construction intact even under heavy use. The inside is filled with thick, flame-retardant high-density foam that not only insulates you from the ground but also gives ergonomic support and reduces fatigue during long hours of work in awkward positions.
Safety and Certification
Although accessories such as cushions are not subject to the same classification as protective clothing, this cushion is made from materials with the highest protective properties. Lava Brown™ cowhide split leather and KEVLAR® thread are the same components used to make Weldas welding clothing certified to the highest Class 2 under EN ISO 11611. This means these materials have been tested for resistance to flame, convective and radiant heat and large splashes of molten metal, which gives you confidence in the highest level of safety.
