Technical Details and Certification
Materials and Construction Analysis
The 55-7166 screen is based on specially developed flame-retardant PVC vinyl with a thickness of 14 mil (0.35 mm). This material is designed to absorb and filter the hazardous radiation generated during arc welding. The green version has low transparency and moderate UV resistance, which makes it an ideal choice where maximum optical protection of bystanders matters more than continuous observation of the welder. The screen has reinforced mounting holes around its perimeter for easy and stable mounting on dedicated frames (e.g. 1.8×1.8 m) and a long service life even under intensive use in industrial conditions.
Safety and Certification
The LAVAshield® 55-7166 welding screen is certified to the demanding DIN EN ISO 25980 standard. This standard sets out precise health and safety requirements for welding curtains, strips and screens. The certificate confirms that the product effectively filters harmful UV radiation and blue light and protects the eyes and skin of people near the workstation. As a leader in certified PPE, Weldas provides full transparency: all certificates and declarations of conformity are publicly available on the www.weldas-ce.com portal, which guarantees verified and reliable safety.
