Avesta 316L-Si/SKR-Si is a solid MIG/MAG wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It is used on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.
Typical parent materials are 1.4436, 1.4432, 316L, 1.4429 and 1.4571. The deposit resists intergranular corrosion, and the wire goes into tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than needed, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
