What Spartus ER316LSi solid MIG/MAG wire is used for

Spartus ER316LSi is a molybdenum alloyed stainless solid MIG/MAG wire for acid resistant steels. Molybdenum raises the pitting resistance of the weld, so the wire is used in food and chemical plants and in systems carrying water with chlorides.

For AISI 316, 316L and 316Ti (1.4401, 1.4404, 1.4571). The raised silicon content gives a smooth bead and a gentle transition to the base metal, most visible in fillet welds.

Keep separate brushes and discs for stainless work, carbon steel dust leaves rust stains on the bead. Match the feed rolls to the wire diameter and use a PTFE liner on longer torches, stainless wire drags more than carbon steel wire.
