Avesta FCW-2D LDX 2101 is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding duplex and superduplex steels. It suits tanks, pipelines and chemical or marine structures that need strength and corrosion resistance at the same time.
The rutile core gives a fast freezing pool, a well shaped face and slag that lifts easily, and it covers the bead while it cools slowly, so the transitions to the parent metal stay smooth. The wire is used in the chemical, pulp and paper and marine industries, on parts loaded both mechanically and by corrosion.
- Classification EN ISO: T Z 24 9 N L R M(C) 3
- AWS classification: E2307T0-4 ; E2307T0-1
Protect the root and keep the gas coverage complete, oxidised zones in duplex are where pitting corrosion starts. Store the wire dry and do not leave an open spool in the feeder overnight, the core takes up moisture. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time.
