Avesta FCW LDX 2101-PW is a flux-cored wire with a rutile core for welding duplex and superduplex steels. It works on chemical plants, desalination units, tanks and offshore structures made of duplex steel.
The slag covers the bead and cools slowly, so the face comes out even and the transitions to the parent metal stay smooth. The rutile core also makes constrained positions easier and gives a calm, soft arc.

- AWS classification: E2307T1-4 ; E2307T1-1
Protect the root and keep the gas coverage complete, oxidised zones in duplex are where pitting corrosion starts. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Watch the heat input and the interpass temperature, overheating duplex upsets the ferrite to austenite balance in the weld.
