Avesta FCW 316L/SKR-PW is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
The rutile core gives a fast freezing pool, a well shaped face and slag that lifts easily, and it keeps the arc calm in constrained positions. Typical work covers tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
- Classification EN ISO: T 19 12 3 L P M/C1
- AWS classification: E316LT1-4 ; E316LT1-1
Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
