The Fronius TPS CMT 4000 is an industrial MIG/MAG power source with liquid cooling, prepared for the CMT process. The card gives 400 A at a 30% cycle and 320 A at a 100% cycle, and the supply is 400 V. This unit comes from a robot station.
What this machine is for
CMT runs the arc with wire retraction, so it puts in little heat and gives little spatter. With this process you join thin sheet, aluminium, galvanised materials and steel with aluminium, where plain MIG/MAG burns the material through or ruins the coating.
A current of 320 A at a 100% cycle sets the machine up for continuous work on a line, and 400 A at a 30% cycle stays for thicker sections. Liquid cooling holds the torch temperature during long cycles, so the torch takes welding without breaks.
The machine was unplugged from the robot and brought to the company in working order. You can tie it back into an automated cell or rebuild it into a hand station, once you have picked a torch.

What to watch out for
The supply is 400 V, and to start it you need a power connection. Liquid cooling: check the level and the flow before the first start, because the circuit stood still during the transport. The set is prepared for a robot, so for hand work you pick a torch and an earth cable, and for a new integration a communication card for your controller. The interconnection cable is about 10 m, and over that distance you move the feeder away from the source.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
