The Fronius TPS 330 in the Castolin version is a digital MIG/MAG power source for hand work and for robot stations. You set the current from 3 to 330 A, and the duty cycle at a temperature of 40°C is 260 A at 60% and 220 A at 100%. The supply is 3 x 400 V and the protection class is IP23.
What this machine is for
This is a power source for heavy industry, for shipyards and for production plants that work in shifts. A current of 220 A at a 100% cycle means long runs without breaks, and a range starting at 3 A lets you go down to thin parts. You set the wire feed speed from 0.5 to 22 m/min, so the machine handles delicate joints and high output filling.
The TransPuls Synergic control analyses the welding circuit in real time and corrects the arc parameters, so there is little spatter and the penetration stays steady despite small changes in how the torch is led. A digital bus between the source and the feeder makes the arc react at once to a change in the distance from the contact tip to the material, which matters on aluminium and on high alloy steels, where faults such as lack of fusion and pores come exactly from an unstable heat balance in the pool.
The Castolin version has a feeder prepared for wires of different hardness, from soft AlSi alloys to hard flux cored wires, and synergic lines matched to Castolin materials. The parameter range can be locked so that the welder stays within the limits of the approved WPS procedure. The communication interfaces let you tie the source into a robot station.
Features and equipment
- TransPuls Synergic: a control that analyses the welding circuit thousands of times a second and corrects the arc as it goes.
- Digital bus between the source and the feeder: an immediate reaction of the arc to a change of the wire stick out.
- 4 roll feeder in the Castolin version: it leads soft and flux cored wires without deforming them, also with long cables.
- Synergic lines for Castolin materials: you pick a program instead of matching the voltage to the wire speed by hand.
- Parameter range lock: the welder stays within the limits of the approved procedure.
- Wire feed speed from 0.5 to 22 m/min.
- Interfaces for automation: the source suits robot stations.
- Protection class IP23 and liquid cooling.

What to watch out for
The supply is 3 x 400 V and the protection class is IP23, that is a station under a roof. Liquid cooling needs a check of the fluid level and of the circuit in the torch before you start. The card does not list a feeder, a torch or interconnection cables, so agree the content of the set with us before you buy, together with a set of rolls for your wire diameter.
For work with a robot you need a matching interface on the controller side, so check the way of tying it in before you decide. The weight is not given, so plan transport after you have seen the unit. The synergic lines are matched to Castolin materials, so with another filler count on time for tuning the programs.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
