What this machine is for

What to watch out for
Gas cooling limits long runs at the upper settings, because the grip heats up, so when you work close to 200 A plan breaks. A supply from a 230 V socket is handy, but on a long extension lead the voltage drops and the arc can break, so watch the cross section of the cores. For aluminium you need a source with alternating current, you will not weld it with this machine.
