Ideal Expert TIG 210 AC/DC PFC is a portable IGBT inverter welder for TIG and TIG Pulse welding with alternating (AC), direct (DC) and mixed (MIX) current, and for MMA welding with coated electrodes. On AC you weld aluminium, on DC stainless steel, carbon and low-alloy steels, copper and titanium. It runs from a 230 V socket protected by a 16 A fuse, and at 11.5 kg you can take it from the workshop to jobs on site. This set comes with a TIG torch with remote control.

Features
TIG modes: AC, DC, MIX and pulse
You can choose TIG AC, TIG AC Pulse, TIG DC, TIG DC Pulse, TIG MIX, TIG spot, TIG 2-Level and MMA. TIG MIX combines direct and alternating current, which on aluminium gives full penetration and effective cleaning. Spot mode is for tacking thin material, and in 2-Level you switch between a higher and a lower current with the torch trigger.
Pulse and arc ignition
With the pulse parameters you influence the weld shape and how focused the arc is, and the lower heat input helps on thin material. You strike the arc without contact (HF) or by touch (LIFT). Use LIFT where electromagnetic interference can disturb the surroundings. The torch trigger works in 2T or 4T (latch for long welds).
Panel and advanced settings
On the digital display you set gas pre-flow and post-flow, start, base and end current, up-slope and down-slope, pulse, AC frequency, HOT START and ARC FORCE, and you run a gas test. In the advanced menu you choose control from the panel or by foot pedal, save 10 programs, change the ignition polarity for TIG DC and restore the factory settings.
MMA: HOT START, ARC FORCE, ANTI STICK, VRD
HOT START supplies a higher current at ignition, and you set how long it lasts. ARC FORCE helps droplets transfer to the weld pool and keeps the arc from going out. ANTI STICK cuts the voltage when the electrode sticks. VRD lowers the open circuit voltage to a safe level when you work in damp conditions. You switch it on in the menu.
PFC and construction
The PFC module raises the power factor and cuts the current drawn from the mains by 30%, so a 16 A fuse is enough for the welder. A fan cools the inside, and the circuit has overload protection.
