Description

About this machine

Jäckle Plasma 110i is an inverter plasma cutter for cutting mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. The card of this unit gives a cutting current up to 130 A, the model documentation 100 A at a 70% duty cycle and 70 A under 100% continuous load. The supply is 3 x 400 V with a 25 A fuse, and the torch is cooled by compressed air.

What this machine is for

Plasma cuts every metal that conducts current, so with this source you part structural steel, acid resistant sheet and aluminium without changing the gas and without preheating. At a current of 100 A quality cutting of steel reaches from 25 mm to 30 mm, and severance cutting up to 40 mm. Current adjustment is stepless, so on a thin sheet you go low and do not melt the edge, and on thick flat bar you set the maximum.

The machine went to metalwork shops, assembly firms and mechanical workshops, where the cutting current and the option to move the source around the hall count. An inverter weighs less than transformer cutters of similar current, and the housing with a handle takes workshop conditions. The high switching frequency of the power stage gives a focused plasma arc, so the kerf is narrower and the heat affected zone (HAZ) smaller. Parts come out needing less finishing work, and you also eat fewer consumables.

The reach of the station is set by the cables: the plasma one is 7 m, the earth one 6 m, the supply one 3 m. When cutting large sheets or doing repair work on site you do not move the source every moment, you carry the torch instead. The pilot arc ignites quickly, so you also start cutting on material covered with rust, paint or scale, without grinding the starting point.

Features and equipment

  • Inverter power stage with a high switching frequency: it focuses the plasma arc, so the kerf is narrower and the heat put into the material smaller.
  • Pilot arc ignition: the start works on a surface covered with rust, paint and scale, without cleaning the cutting point first.
  • Current control system with a short reaction time: it holds the arc when the distance from the nozzle to the material changes, so the edge comes out even through the whole cut and the torch parts live longer.
  • Stepless cutting current adjustment: you match the power to the thickness without steps in the setting, from thin sheet to thick structural parts.
  • Working voltage from 88 V to 120 V: the system raises the voltage as the torch moves away and holds the arc at a larger gap over the material.
  • Plasma cable 7 m and earth cable 6 m: a working radius around the source without moving the machine on large sheets.
  • Supply cable 3 m for 3 x 400 V: the set is ready to plug into a power socket.
  • Housing with a carrying handle: it shields the electronics from workshop dust and makes it easier to move the source between stations.
  • Panel with a simple current setting: you set the parameter with one knob, without going through a menu.

What to watch out for

For work you need a 3 x 400 V power socket and a circuit with a 25 A fuse. Plasma cuts with compressed air, so a compressor with a filter and a dryer has to stand at the station: moisture and oil in the air shorten the life of the nozzle and the electrode, dirty the edge and blur the arc. The card gives neither the required pressure nor the air flow, so ask before you buy which compressor to put under your thicknesses. Nozzles, electrodes and shields are wear parts, so check the availability of parts for this series before you put the machine into production.

The cutting current on the product card is given as up to 130 A, while the model documentation speaks of 100 A at a 70% duty cycle and 70 A in continuous work, so plan the pace by the lower figure, because that one describes cutting without breaks. The card gives neither weight nor dimensions, and the source with cables is carried by two people.

How we sell used machines

This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
