Castolin AirJet 105 is an inverter plasma cutter with a cutting current from 20 A to 105 A, supplied from a 3 x 400 V, 50/60 Hz mains. Severance cutting reaches 40 mm, quality cutting 20 mm. The weight is 32 kg, the protection class IP 23.
What this machine is for
You cut with it everything that conducts current: mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, cast iron and CDP wear plates. In severance you go through 40 mm, and in production cutting with an even edge the limit is 20 mm. The machine suits production plants, assembly crews and building firms which part thicker material on the spot, on a building site as well.
Instead of a gas torch and a cylinder you carry one machine and compressed air. The duty cycle is 100 A at 35%, so the machine suits cutting in series, with breaks for cooling at the upper settings. The whole range from 20 A also handles thinner material, where an excess of current only distorts the sheet.
The pilot arc ignites without touching the material, so you cut mesh, perforated sheet and parts covered with rust or paint without breaking off work. The wear of the T 100 torch parts is smaller with such a start than with a contact ignition where the nozzle is touched to the work.
The cooling channel is kept apart from the electronics. The cooling air goes around the control components, so metal dust from angle grinders does not settle where it does the most harm. In a workshop where grinding goes on every day that is a basic difference in how long the machine lives.
Features and equipment
- Inverter technology. A lower energy draw at the same cutting power and a lower weight than in classic sources.
- A cutting current range from 20 A to 105 A. You match the current to the thickness of the material over the whole range.
- Pilot arc ignition without contact with the material. Cutting of mesh, perforated sheet and surfaces with rust and paint.
- A separated cooling channel. The air goes around the electronics, so metal dust does not settle on the components.
- PFC system and voltage tolerance. The parameters hold at voltage drops and when working on long supply cables.
- T 100 torch. You match the wear parts to this model.
- Protection class IP 23. A housing made for workshop and building site conditions.

What to watch out for
The supply is 3 x 400 V, 50/60 Hz. You need compressed air with parameters of minimum 5 bar at a flow of 180 l/min, dry and free of oil, because the quality of the edge and the life of the nozzle depend on it. The duty cycle is 100 A at 35% at a temperature of 40 degrees, so at the upper settings plan breaks.
The machine weighs 32 kg, and you carry it with two people or move it on a trolley. The product card gives the brand as Lincoln Electric and a cutting current range up to 130 A, which does not agree with the source description, so confirm the configuration before you buy. The card lists neither the earth cable nor a set of spare parts for the torch, so add them to the budget.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
