Lincoln Invertec V270-T Pulse is an industrial inverter TIG DC power source with pulse, with an MMA DC mode. You set the current from 5 to 270 A, the duty cycle is 270 A at 35% and 200 A at 100%, the supply is 400 V three phase. The power source weighs 14.5 kg, so you take it to assembly work without a trolley.
What this machine is for
This is a machine for black steel and stainless steel of medium and greater thickness. The current reaches 270 A, and 200 A under a continuous load, so the source pulls long passes on tanks and structures. You strike the arc without contact with the HF high frequency circuit, which gives a clean start without touching the material with the electrode. This machine will not weld aluminium, because the output is direct current only, and breaking up the oxide layer needs alternating current.
The second group of tasks is thin and medium materials run with pulse. You set the pulse frequency in two ranges, from 0.2 to 20 Hz and from 3 to 300 Hz, and the background current from 10 to 90% of the peak value. The pulsing current cools the pool between the impulses, so the face comes out even and the distortion of thin walled stainless pipes is smaller. The MMA DC mode adds welding with a covered electrode, useful on repairs in the field and with thicker rutile and basic electrodes.
The manufacturer aimed this model at plants working black and stainless steel, at service and assembly companies that need a strong, light power source, at operators working with pulse on thin material and at service shops joining TIG with the covered electrode during repairs outside the hall.
Features and equipment
- HF ignition: a strike without touching, with high frequency, which limits the risk of bringing tungsten into the weld.
- Lift TIG ignition: a contact start by rubbing the electrode against the material, for work close to sensitive electronics, where an HF discharge gets in the way.
- TIG pulse in two ranges, from 0.2 to 20 Hz and from 3 to 300 Hz: a slow pulse leads the pool rhythmically on the root, a fast one narrows and stiffens the arc.
- Control of the peak impulse time and of the base current from 10 to 90%: you pick the share of heat between the impulse and the background for the thickness of the material.
- Post Flow from 0.5 to 30 s: the gas flows after the arc goes out and protects the hot electrode and the cooling weld against oxygen.
- Down Slope from 0.5 to 20 s: the current falls gently at the end of a pass, so the crater fills and does not crack.
- MMA DC mode: a direct current characteristic for covered electrodes, with a reserve up to 270 A for thicker rutile and basic coatings.
- Open circuit voltage 48 V DC: a low voltage on the torch before the strike.

What you get
- Lincoln Invertec V270-T Pulse power source
- TIG torch about 8 m, liquid cooled
- earth cable 4 m
What to watch out for
You need a 400 V power connection with a 20 A fuse of the time delay type, otherwise at currents close to 270 A the circuit will trip. The torch in the set is liquid cooled, so you add a cooler with fluid to the station, and before the start you check the level and the flow in the circuit. The torch is about 8 m, the earth cable 4 m, which gives a large reach around the part, but also a larger voltage drop along the long path and stiffer handling of the cable bundle.
A 35% duty cycle at 270 A means three and a half minutes of welding in a ten minute window, work without a limit starts at 200 A. The open circuit voltage is 48 V. A weight of 14.5 kg and dimensions of 385 x 215 x 480 mm mean you carry the power source on your own, but the cables and the cooler weigh their share.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
