Lorch V50 AC/DC is an industrial TIG source for alternating and direct current, liquid cooled. The supply is 3 x 400 V with a 15% tolerance, the housing has class IP23S, and the source alone weighs about 123.2 kg. The set has a cooler, a trolley and a TIG torch of 8 m with control.
What this machine is for
This is a source for workshops and companies that weld aluminium and stainless steel in series. With alternating current you work on aluminium, with direct current on stainless and structural steels. Liquid cooling takes the heat off the torch, so on long welds it is not the handle that sets the breaks.
On aluminium a whole set of alternating current functions works here. The square wave shape gives strong cleaning of the oxide layer and deep penetration. Automatic balling of the electrode tip prepares the rounded end, so you do not have to shape it by hand before work. The balance adjustment sets the ratio between cleaning and penetration, and the alternating current frequency adjustment focuses or widens the arc depending on the material thickness.
SmartBase is a built in database that picks the starting point of the arc parameters for the electrode diameter. You save ready settings with the Tiptronic function, up to 100 programs, so in serial production every part runs on the same parameters no matter who stands at the machine. The pulse reaches 20 kHz, that is 20 000 Hz. Such a high frequency focuses the arc, limits the amount of heat put in and lets you run the weld faster on thin stainless sheet.

What to watch out for
The data on the welding current is inconsistent in the materials: the value from the manufacturer description does not fit in the range that the product record gives. That is why we give no current range and no duty cycle here, and we settle them with you on the panel of this unit before the purchase. The rest of the parameters come from the description and from the record.
The supply is 3 x 400 V with a 15% tolerance, so the machine takes mains swings and work from a generator. Protection class IP23S allows work outdoors, under a roof. The source alone weighs about 123.2 kg, the transport handles are made for lifting with a crane, so plan a trolley and a fixed station, not carrying it by hand.
The liquid cooling is run by the integrated WUK 5 cooler. Before the start you check the coolant level and circulation, and when it stands in an unheated hall, whether the fluid is not freezing. The torch is 8 m with control on the handle, which gives reach around the part, but with such a long cable the flow in the circuit and the state of the control plug matter. To the work you add an argon cylinder, a regulator and tungsten electrodes.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package: an inspection with cleaning of the machine and a validation measurement. Further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
