What this machine is for
This is a source of compressed air for a workshop with several users, a paint shop or a production line. A flow of 3.75 m3/min at 8 bar feeds pneumatic tools, a plasma cutter, spray guns and assembly equipment. The motor joins the compressing unit directly, through a flexible coupling, in a ratio of 1 to 1, which takes away gear losses and makes the work quieter.
Vane compressors have no rolling bearings in the compressing unit, so the servicing comes down to changing the oil, the filter and the separator. The maker gives a motor of class IE3 and a low rotational speed of the air end, which according to the documentation gives an energy saving of over 15% against other rotary compressors. The ERC series has no sound insulating enclosure, so the service goes fast, but the noise is not damped by a housing.
The controller matches the work to the demand of the network. A proportional, modulated inlet valve holds a constant pressure and lets it work also with no user drawing air, and a thermostatic valve holds the working temperature of the oil. Thanks to that the machine does not run at full output when the workshop draws little air.

What to watch out for
The 400/3/50 supply means a three phase connection, and the controller reports a wrong phase order itself, so after you connect it check the message before the first start. The machine weighs 390 kg and measures 1660 x 690 x 910 mm, to bring it in you need a pallet truck or a fork lift and even ground. The sound pressure level is 79 dB(A) from a distance of 1 m, and the series has no sound insulating enclosure, so in a small room without sound damping it will be loud.
The product data sheet gives a 22 l tank and a power of 22 kW, confirm the configuration and the way it is connected to the installation before you buy. For work you need oil meant for this series, the first fill is ROTOROIL F2, and a plan of changes of the oil, the filter and the separator.
