Paton ECO-250 230V MMA Welder, basic data
The MMA welder PATON ECO-250 230V is intended for manual arc welding by the MMA method, using direct current. The ECO series is aimed at home users who need a workable machine with a rated current of 250A. That is enough to run any electrode from ⌀ 1.6 mm to ⌀ 6 mm including hard to melt types. The duty cycle is no lower than 40%, which covers most tasks on a semi industrial scale and works very well in the household sector.
Thanks to the solid, compact build, welders of the ECO series do well out in the field. The small size of the machine makes it easy to move around, and the professional transport case in the set makes carrying it much easier.
Main advantages of the Paton ECO-250 230V MMA welder
- European production of welding machines
- Stepless welding current adjustment
- Can run on long extension leads and off a generator
- All electronic parts are impregnated with two layers of high grade varnish, which keeps the product reliable over its whole service life
- Improved stability of the electric arc
- Functions Hot-Start (hot start), Arc-Force (force of the electric arc) and Anti-Force (anti stick)
- The machines have protection against voltage surges and a working stabilisation circuit, which lets them work correctly over a voltage range from 170V to 260V
- Half the demand for electrical energy compared with traditional power sources
Description of the functions:
The Hot-Start function (hot start) secures the best possible quality at the start of the weld and a first rate strike: at the moment the arc is struck, over a short interval, the working welding current rises from the set working level to the optimum level. In some cases (when working off a weak mains supply or a generator) this level can be set by hand, if the machine has the right switch (as in the "Professional") series. Lowering "Hot-Start" to cut the energy draw from a weak mains supply, or raising it on a strong supply, makes striking noticeably easier.
The Arc-Force function (force of the electric arc) is used to improve arc stability on a short arc and to stop the electrode "sticking". As a drop of metal separates from the electrode, the current is raised automatically to a set level, if the machine has the right switch (as in the "Professional") series. Lowering the "force of the electric arc" to cut the energy draw from a weak mains supply, or raising it on a strong supply, improves arc stability even further.
The Anti-Stick function (anti stick) lets the welder separate the electrode from the workpiece easily. In the event of a short circuit, after a brief pause, the welding current is reduced automatically. Once the electrode is clear of the part, the power source restores its operation by itself.
5 year manufacturer warranty for consumers and for companies
Build quality of the highest order, confirmed by a 5 year DOOR-to-DOOR manufacturer warranty. Models of the ECO series have a compact build that uses a number of innovative solutions to raise reliability. The inverter block works at frequencies in the kHz range, which affects the size of the transformer in the power block and so cuts the mass and the dimensions of the machine itself considerably.
