Paton StandardTIG-250 230V DC TIG welder
The digital inverter welder PATON™ StandardTIG-250 is built for gas shielded arc welding with TIG (HF), for manual arc welding with covered electrodes in MMA and for semi automatic arc welding in MIG/MAG (as a power source paired with an external wire feeder), always with direct current.
The „Standard” series unit was designed for users who need a compact housing and a good balance between portability and function at its full rated current of 250A. The welder also works in „MMA” mode with electrodes from ø1.6 mm to ø6.0 mm, and in semi automatic arc welding in „MIG/MAG” mode with solid wire from ø0.6 mm to ø1.2. The small dimensions make the welder easy to move, so it covers most tasks in production: site work, workshop work, thin sheet fabrication, repair and maintenance, farming and similar. The inverter block works at frequencies in the kHz range, which cuts the size of the transformer in the power block and so reduces the weight and the dimensions of the unit itself.

A further advantage is the CLEAN mode, which cleans stainless steel parts and their welds of oxides and discolouration left after welding, and polishes the surface to bring back its appearance and its corrosion resistance. Working in CLEAN mode requires a separate purchase of the special electrolyte fluid for passivating high alloy steels and of the PATON TIG brush. Without these accessories, cleaning and polishing stainless steel with this function is not possible.

Inverter durability in dusty and humid environments was improved by moving the electronics into a separate compartment, and the electronic parts were coated with high grade varnish.
The reduced welding voltage function during manual arc welding (MMA), which can be switched off, lets the unit work in a hazardous environment. The unit has a protection module against incorrect supply voltage levels (surges or voltage drops). PATON™ StandardTIG welders have a working stabilisation system, so they can be powered from a generator.
